Named after the Tagalog words for grandmother and grandfather, LALO is inspired by the approachable and friendly spirit of Filipino lutong bahay (Filipino home cooking). The menu rotates seasonally, but highlights will include Inihaw and Lumpia Shanghai. LALO also serves San Miguel beer and a rotating selection of Filipino inspired craft cocktails. Many of the recipes are based off ones passed down from their families, but there is one special dish, the Bas-Ka-Bob, which is sourced directly from Jillian’s grandfather who sold Filipino-style BBQ sandwiches and shish-ka-bob skewers from a small cart parked right across Independence Mall for three decades.
